Becoming a Compassion Sponsor

After feeling that I needed to "do something" for awhile now I finally decided to listen. I was reading Pioneer Woman's blog and there were posts about Marlboro Man's Compassion trip. What is the world? I don't know Marlboro Man personally but he was leaving the ranch with his girls to go on this trip...something was up.

Needless to say, I read all the posts and poured over the Compassion website and believe that this is the "something" the Lord wanted me to do but I still had hesitation - I needed a "sign". Then I was reading a family members blog. They have just adopted a little boy from Africa and she had posted on adoption and if that was not possible sponsoring/mentoring a child. There at the end of the post was a link to the Compassion website (hmmm) and this verse:

Once our eyes are opened we cannot pretend we do not know what to do. God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls knows we know and holds us responsible to act.
Proverbs 24:12

So, then I felt that I had pretty much received my "sign" and I'm now sponsoring two children. Victor is from Honduras and Paola is from Guatemala.

My blog is to record this journey and hopefully inspire others to sponsor.
